I'm Fanny, a yoga & movement teacher dedicated to helping every teacher discover their unique path.

My name is Fanny Alavoine, and I am a yoga teacher, movement nerd & teacher trainer. I assist those committed to lifelong learning: curious, open-minded individuals who are discerning about the precision of their teaching. I support each teacher in their journey toward self-confidence and authenticity.

As a teacher at heart, I love sharing my knowledge and guiding the learning process in a logical and progressive way, making it easier to absorb the material. I have a deep interest in teaching methods, but even more so in the content of the training programs I create.

I am truly passionate about functional anatomy, biomechanics, fascia lines, alignment, logic & creative sequencing, effective cueing, intentional creativity, and, of course, all the philosophies that enrich our yoga practice. My dream is to learn, study, and practice every day of the year while developing the training programs that will support each teacher on their journey.

A Tribute to All Who Have Inspired Me

For the Vision of Vinyasa

I was initially trained by Daphne Koken and Claudia Van der Tier, who themselves were trained by Simon Park, the creator of "Liquid Flow," and Shiva Rea, the creator of "Prana Vinyasa." Although I have not undergone official training with these two teachers and I somewhat diverge from their teaching system, I recognize that my vision of Vinyasa is rooted in this extensive lineage, which can be traced back to Krishnamacharya. It seemed important to mention them. More recently, I draw inspiration from the holistic teachings of Daniela Mandala, who harmoniously combines the concepts of yoga flow with modern anatomical knowledge, principles of meridians, and healing arts.

For Anatomy & Alignments

My passion for the human body has led me to study a wide range of work on functional anatomy, biomechanics, and manual therapies. I’ve completed Level 1 and am about to complete Level 2 of the Rolfing® Structural Integration training. My approach is strongly influenced by research on fascia and connective tissue, and by the fascia-line perspective of Tom Myers. I’m also deeply inspired by Douglas Keller, whose writings on yoga and alignment have shaped the way I understand and teach movement.

For Sequencing

My approach to sequencing and teaching has evolved significantly in recent years. The more I understand how the body works, the more precise I become in my sequences, leaving nothing to chance. Every movement, transition, and chosen word has a purpose, leading me to adopt an increasingly intentional and holistic teaching method. My first steps toward creative sequencing were guided by Adell Bridges and Rocky Heron, both of whom offered online training during Covid, providing me with new perspectives on sequencing.

For Philosophy

For a more academic approach to philosophy, the name Douglas Keller must be mentioned again. His online trainings and literary works are exceptionally rich. Regarding the incorporation of these philosophies into my practice and teaching, I would undoubtedly cite Daniela Mandala & Sharada Devi.

And before all of this.... I dedicated my entire childhood and adolescence to training and competing in climbing, an adventure rich in personal development and extraordinary encounters, but also marked by numerous micro-traumas due to the immense pressure I placed on myself and the constant focus on performance and success from a young age. It was only after ending my athletic career that yoga entered my life, teaching me to use my body not to perform but with kindness and love, in a quest for balance. This journey began with seeking physical equilibrium and then expanded into a more holistic approach to my yoga practice.

I also studied graphic design, practiced artistic photography, and worked for three years in a marketing company before starting my own independent yoga career. Although it wasn't my dream job, I am grateful for the skills I gained there. It is those graphic design and marketing insights that made the Luma.Yoga training platform possible.
